Tom Tom Go 510 + RDS-TMC Traffic receiver

I don't have the specific model, but I do have the TomTom 300 and the traffic service. My guess is that the 510 receives the same traffic info as mine does and to be frank it's not that hot. It's not expensive at about £20 a year, but it's just not that accurate.

The software is all ace - it will automatically replan your route if you ask it to, so you're always going the quickest way round the traffic. If only the information was accurate.....

I think that TMC traffic receiver that the OP mentioned is different from TomTom traffic service that you get through your mobile with a subscription. It is only become recently available with the very latest devices and wouldn't be available on the 300 anyway. I can confirm that the old TomTom traffic service is pants but I haven't got enough info on TMC service. For TMC in the UK, the service itself is Universal for all compatible devices as it is nothing to do with the GPS manufacturer but is run by either RAC or TrafficMaster. The issue when it come to partcular Satnavs would be with the reliability of the receivers and ease of installation and use as TMC receivers for these units are moslty seperate from the GPS device itself.
