No, it cannot be 13.4, quote the 2 figs and someone can check for you.

    Hi Jolaaled -
Annual Gas Consumption A rough rule of thumb is that in Winter you will use 80% of your yearly use and 20% in Summer
If you have a bill for one Winter Quarter, double it to get a figure for your entire Winter use then add on 20% of this figure for your Summer use - Keep in mind this is an Estimated figure, but it's good enough for you to enter into the Switch sites for price comparisions.

Metric or Imperial meter? On the line on the bill that starts with how many Meter units you have used and converts them to the number of Kwh being charged for, divide the number of Kwh by the number of meter units.
For a Metric meter the answer will be appx.11, for an Imperial meter it will be appx 31
The reason it is approxiamate, is that it varies slightly on every bill as it's adjusted for the quality of the Gas.
However these adjustments are quite small and should not give a figure of the 13.4 you have posted. If you can post the actual line on your bill in full, it will help

    Thanks so much.

My bill for Sept 23 to Jan 10 says:

    units: 481, kwh 5356

so yes...that calculation comes to 11.4, which means i've got a metric meter!..will the actual meter outside tell me if it's metric or imperial?

thanks so much..have learnt a lot this morning, thanks to you all!

Yes, it should say cu ft or m3 on the meter itself.
The factor in your case is about 11.14.
