Hi guys!
Would appreciate some help you guys!
My mate and I are at a total loss what to get our single best friend for her 30th birthday. And we would appreciate some help!!
We have a very max budget of £140 between the two of us.
We had thought of a skydive for her as we talked about this when we were students but she wouldn't want to do a single one but a tandem and the single type would be the only type within our budget. PLus the single type would mean a full days training and she would be on her own for that time. (we would have gone to watch a jump but clearly cant be at her side all day - thats not to say she's not self sufficient though!)
She's not a girly girl, so a nice charm bracelet isn't the thing for her. She does like a nice dress for an event so we could get her a coast voucher but its a bit impersonal for a 30th birthday present from her 2 best-friends..
She ski's and snowboards but has all the gear. She likes going on skiing holidays but not sun holidays. She attends BMF - British Military Fitness. She's doing curling as a hobby now too.
She likes going for dinner and drinks but is not one for a show or music gigs anything like that.. She does like baking but thats more for the food at the end than anything else.
She is involved in Young Farmers but this is coming to an end now hence the replacement with BMF and curling.
She is based in Dundee.

personally, the 'lady'title , name a star, name a rose would do it for me
unique and memorable....you cant get better than that!!0 -
She hates spas too..! She's so hard!
Thanks for the link mccsavage!
I did have a possible brain wave last night. A 30 things for 30 years idea. Maybe like things that we know she likes or that we associate with her from our firendship.
Like:
ski socks
Curling accessory
fitness accessory
bottle of vodka
giant cup cake maker
toy tractor
small voucher for coast
picture album with some pics of us over the years
and other things like that...
Would you guys appreaite something like that?0 -
Think that sounds like a great idea - I'm 30 this year as well and would def appreciate something like that. If you're still looking for ideas though - what about an indoor skydive? Quite a bit cheaper and you could both and watch all the way through. My brother went last year and said it was great fun.0

Thaks podperson!
I looked into that but the only one I could find was down in Milton Keynes and she lives in Dundee.. If I knew of somewhere in Scotland that would have been a great idea!0 -
My daughter has just been to a fantastic party at a studio where they (16 friends ) made a c.d of the 3 songs they chose. Now granted my daughter is 8 but the party following was hen party with nibbles and wine , anyway it's an idea .Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

Aww, shame My brother went to one in Manchester which is slightly closer but still a big trek.0 -
Didn't see anyone else had posted this (sorry if you have) but what about arranging a charity sky dive? My OH wanted to do one and I couldn't afford it so I arranged a charity one and we fund raised together.
Here is an example:http://www.skydiving.co.uk/charity.htm
EDIT: here's one about 60 miles from you http://www.stirlingparachute.co.uk/charity.html
I contacted our local skydive place and booked through them but it gives you an idea. He donated the money to wish upon a star.
He did the jump he wanted and the charity benefits too HTH0 -

I'd appreciate the vodka! Realistically, I'd like most of it but not so much the stuff that would create 'clutter' such as a toy tractor (unless she likes things like that?). I'd love the picture album. Maybe some retro sweets from the 80's? I really like this http://www.chocolatebuttons.co.uk/retro-sweet-capsule.html and http://www.kidsofthe80s.com/80s-shop/prod_844951-Sweet-box-80s-retro-gift-box.html ORRRR how about an f1 driving experience? They sound fun!0
