As a HINT, the latest an IPA can normally be issued is 6 week prior to discharge date.

This allows the cooling off period, and time for court in the case of the need for an IPO.

Now if you refuse an IPA issued in UNDER 6 weeks, then it is actually unlikely the IS will proceed to court (Yes they may be trying it on!)

    HOWEVER

NT Tax Code ONLY IPA Paperwork can be done up to the day before discharge, and oftern thsi will be just to tie up the loose ends in the office

Thanks for responding BB&B .. when you say the lastest an IPA is normally issued is 6 weeks before AD, by 'issued' to you mean the initial IPOQ form would normally be sent at least 6 weeks before, or is it the next step of informing them of an IPA (i.e sending a letter telling the BR that they are getting an IPA and how much it will be) that typically has to be done 6 weeks before?

    Me Bad

The six weeks is the latest that they can ASK you to pay an IPA, the paperwork part (IPOQ) will have been returned already.

Thanks BB&B, hopefully they'll be so busy with new BR cases they won't have time to think about sending me an IPOQ. :D

May be the case for a while but it is looking like the new computer system will sort this out, it automatically carries out some of the task, checks that actions have been completed and prompts the examiner and the AA and AO staff to do them (It them nags them until they do!)

Then in the not to distant future progressing a bankruptcy will be easier and more automatic
