Alternative to Kitchen Tiles

We have got 3 of our 4 walls in the kitchen covered in tiles. Some of these are broken so we wanted to know the best alternative to tiles and any links to stores that sell the alternative.

Can you get splash backs similar to kitchen worktops for walls?

have you thought of using glass? my entire kitchen (all 3 walls around u shaped worktop) are glass now. i did it myslef. you measure the shapes, get them cut in glass (from a glass merchant) then paint the reverse size whatever colour you want with 3 coats of tile paint. glue it to the wall with neautral cure silicone. seal all the edges and hey presto, its done! a little tip, if you want glass to not have that natural green hue (makes an aqua colour if you paint them white) then you will need to buy ultracl;ear or opticlear (low iron) glass. this then allows any colour to be out on the back and the clour isnt tinted by the glass itself. i have pictures of mine if you wanted to see. email me at [EMAIL="aidobond@yahoo.co.uk"]aidobond@yahoo.co.uk[/EMAIL]
