Recommend a laptop network adapter card

can anyone recommend a adapter card for a laptop? I have a belkin f5d7011v1 and it is driving me mad! sometimes it wont connect and nothing I do short of go and sit on top of the router will make it connect. I have a toshiba laptop with the pcmcia slot. I have a wireless g router and this card is a g 125mbs, I would prefer not to have a usb dongle type. thanks everyone. recommendations appreciated.
