Can someone please advise on how to fill in the prescription details on the lensway site?

I had an eye test on Friday and was told I either need separate glasses now for long distance and close work, or varifocals.... I cant afford the £168 they wanted for varifocal lenses so was going to just order some glasses for close work from Lensway for the moment, at £29 that is not too bad!

However my prescription shows left and right near and distance but the details for reading glasses on the Lensway site asks for right (OD) and left (OS) and then has a box for "ADD".

Which goes for OD and OS? is it the near or distance? and then which goes in the "ADD" box????

Hope that makes sense! I am confused!!!!!

I just wanted to praise Lensway. I took up their last offer of free glasses to first 5000 people (something like that anyway). I ordered a pair of Nike glasses which were normally £80. I paid just £7.99 for shipping. I received the glasses and was very pleased with them. However, after a couple of weeks the lenses chipped after cleaning them with a lens cloth!

I contacted Lensway and they gave me a freepost address to send them back to. I got a brand new replacement pair of glasses about 10 days later. Very impressive. I didn't realise until today that they ship from Canada so that explained the longer delivery times I experienced. Another thing, I had a few queries regarding the initial order and prescription info they required. They replied really quickly (always same day).

Anyway, just wanted to give praise where it's due :T

LensWay may or may not have sorted out their problems but I am still waiting for glasses ordered (and paid for) 24 August...

I ordered glasses on the Bank Holiday weekend in August, and have just had an email today (12th Oct) saying they have been posted (haven't rec'd them yet). Cheap, but absolutely appaling at giving you the goods. I just hope they are ok when I get them - I just can't cope with having to wait for replacements. I think I'll pay more next time and know I can get them in 3 days from my local optician.

since the offer is on at Lensway, the prices seem to have shot up!

last time i looked the glasses were much less ....

and there's not many designer brand stock ....

My daughter Jackie got the £29 deal specs recently and a voucher for 'free for a friend' which she passed on to me. I ordered a pair online and though they took a while they arrived today. Only cost me £9 ish P&P and they came with a voucher for 'free for a friend'!!! This could go on ad infinitum maybe. Great value anyway.

I placed an order for the £29 lensway offer, the order came through pretty quickly but I disliked the glasses so sent them back. That's where the problems started. Trying to get through on the call centre is long winded to say the least. I keep being told contradictory things but the long and the short is that I have no glasses and have no refund.
Not impressed with their customer service at all.
