Debt management and claiming charges back

I spoke to my dmp company today, and they have told me to go ahead and make the claim myself against the bank, that it is highly unlikley it would be delt with by the same people/dept who deal with the debt managment plan at the bank, and that there is no risk of them refusing future payment offers from the dmp due to me claiming bank charges back, as if the bank pays up they have admitted these charges were unlawful.
Hope this helps, im sending my first letter off monday!!Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
If you look back on all this as Lucy said see how much of this debt from ALL THE CREDITORS is in unlawful charges. I bet it contributed greatly to your problem. It is quite likely that the full and final offer to them could be greatly reduced if those charges were removed.0

I completely agree, my dmp has already had all charges on my other accounts( credit cards ect) refunded apart from the bank charges, that is why i intend to chase the bank myself for these.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0

I know this is an old one but I suspect you are still in debt if you are using compass. They will reclaim your bank charges and take half of what they get back as a fee so you are much better doing this yourself.
Please, please move your account to a free service and report compass to the OFT or trading standards to get your fee back as they take their fee before giving money to creditors and don't pass all on to creditors which is illegal. They tell you it is in an account for settlements but as most of your money goes to their fee there is likely to be nothing in this account until the end and if they go bust this money is not ring fenced so you will lose it all.
I would be very worried if I was still with this company as I was warned by a member of their own staff as they are in trouble!.
Please get advice from one of the free services to move your account to them.0
