Buyer has asked me to wait over week til they pay

I sold some items on Sunday. The most expensive of which is about £125. The buyer only has a feedback of 96%(lots of negs due to late sending of the items) they asked on Monday if it would be ok to collect the item as they do not live too far away. I replied saying that would be OK except they would not be able to collect on Wednesday. They sent a message today with some excuse that they would not be able to collect until next week sometime as their partner has flu (dont know what that has got to do with it)
I really could have done with being paid before next week. I have this strange feeling that they are just going to mess me about. Would it be best to issue a NPB after the 4 days or give them the benefit of the doubt

  • The difficulty you face is even if you file a NPB claim you're going to have to relist and wait till the items sell, post them ect before you see the money :(

Why not suggest a concrete date/time with the buyer, with cash on collection for next week?

Alternativly if the item was not listed as collection only then ask them to pay via paypal and you'll post it - that way the 'ill partner' won't matter :D

I have just emailed suggesting she pay for the item now but to deduct the p&p or alternatively send me a deposit. If this fails i suppose i just have to wait til next week.
What happens if she has not collected say by the end of next week can i still issue the NPB?
I also might miss the chance of offering it to the second highest bidder who was only £2 less than the winning bid.

Careful - With collection you risk the 'not received' scam where buyers complain they have not received the item they've paid for, despite collecting it in person!

I'd suggest a deposit, say 10% to prove they are going to collect.
