    In my experience it depends on the books. I've had good success with academic textbooks or training manuals and the like. For paperback fiction less so, but I've done better when I've sold them in sets.

    The best sellers in books are those that are part of a series or a niche interest like sci-fi or fantasy. Readers like me who like the other books in the series will always be looking for the next one. Dungeons and Dragons publishers have made an absolute mint out of my reading habits...though lately I have been buying more secondhand than new books.
