mini cooper tyre pressure

Hi, last weeek i bought a mini cooper ( just trying to get to learn thing about the car, ) I went on a few sights tring to find the correct tyre pressure for me car and they told me to put in my reg number wich i did then my car came up with the correct tyers and pressure i should have ,wich was 205/45/r17 , but the tyres do not match what is on the car , Hubby says that they are the correct original tyres, wheels for the car, but all three sites i when on say they are different, anyway the tyres on my car are 195 ,55/r16 . can anyone tell me what is right pleaae , its a mini cooper converable 56reg

Didn't you get the handbook when you bought it?

Looking at those sizes the car should have 17" wheels and is now on 16".

the inside of the drivers or passengers door frame should have a sticker with the pressures.

hi yes i did get a handbook searched everywhere for it , does not say what tyres should be on or pressure , the inside of my door says 2.30 and undernith that it says 230 ? what duz that mean as it means nowt to me ? , and i have also posted this on the mini2 forum site but got no replys yet, ( i only eva get replys to anything on this site ) and yes all sites say the car should have 17" but these are 16" think i have the older tyres on the mini 2006 and they changed them to 17" on the 2007 coz when i put in google 295/55/16 tyres it came up mini cooper goodyear runflat tyres . whch is what they are

ps, they are the right tyres for the car as it says on the side of the door the same wat is printed on my tyres with the stupid 2.3 pressure wateva that is ?

weh hey Hallelujah !!1 I think i got it . its 33 i just went on a converson site , why dont they just write " put in 33 on the tyre mashine " instead of compicating everything for us women haa, thanks again for replys x

2.30 bar (2.3 times the atmospheric pressure which is 1) = 34 psi

My old Mini Cooper had 195/55x16 tyres fitted (05 model) and I used to put 31 in all 4 corners for everyday use, it was 34/35 for full loads but felt horrible.

I found members on mini2 would always answer your questions but sometimes you would have to wait a few days for a response, its not the sort of forum where ppl are logged in all day everyday posting for the sake of it.
