Capital One Card Accepted then refused!!

Options
Hi I'm new so bear with me & if I'm in the wrong place I apologise! I recently applied for a Capital One card & was accepted, I signed & returned the agreement & was told my card would be with me within 7 days, however 10 days later I received another letter informing me they could not issue me with a credit card on this occasion!! Is this fair & can they do this once an agreement has been signed?? What's going on?? Please advise.

I think there is something in the terms & conditions which means the company can change their minds at any time.

You really aren't accepted until the card is in your hands, cc companies keep on reviewing the applications with cra's and also fraud databases, and if something crops up, even after signing t+c's then they can decline the application

  • Yep, think I eventually found it (or something similar)! after going through the agreement with a fine tooth comb! Not very concise though. Thanks again.
  • I think its out of order, once you sign an agreement financially or otherwise it should be honoured! Oh well!! Thanks again.
  • instead of looking through t&cs, give them a call, and ask.

like you say the thing you found wasnt very concise, so see what they have to say about it...

that way if you know an exact reason it may give an insight to something possibly on your credit report etc
