Childcare Question for 1st Time Mum

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone can advise how I go about claiming for help with childcare. Is it via the people who pay me CTC & WTC? I have heard something about vouchers. Sorry very confused!!

you claim for childcare via tax credits.
it is all very dependant on how many hours you work and how much you earn.
the voucher scheme allows you to pay for childcare before tax and NI are paid.
its all very individual, so difficult to work out with no details.

I am aiming to work around 20 hours a week and my wage will be around £18k.

i'm no expert. the new incoming rules will allow you to claim up to 70% of childcare costs via tax credits.
as i said previously, it will be a very individual thing which way leaves you in the best position.
    good luck!

The vouchers nannytone is talking about, come from your employer.
