Word 2010 and printer properties

I have a HP C4280 printer

In Word 2007 I would set printer properties to fast draft, double-sided and black only (as black ink is cheaper and I want to use both sides)

However in Word 2010 - only fast draft stays selected - as double-sided and black only get reset to their default settings after clicking apply and ok

Word 2010 has a double-sided option in itself too but it doesn't work as well as the HP one plus the HP one gave you detailed onscreen instructions on how to re-insert the pages (useful if multiple pages as it prints odd in one run and even in another - also useful when printing in landscape orientation etc.)

How can I get Word 2010 to stop resetting my printer properties?

  • I think (guessing cos on this pc I don't have 2010 that's at home) , its on file/advanced/print and then select all new documents I can't be sure.
