Hiding IP address

Hi,
I am wanting to hide my IP address (so I can view BBC iPlayer whilst working for periods overseas).
Anyone got any suggestion or experience of software which masks the IP address...
I think I am after software (rather than using one of the proxy servers which are available), I also don't want to set up my own proxy server as I am not very techy! Also, trying not to have a monthly subscription.
I hope I am not asking for anything not allowed on the forum... I do posses a TV licence so allowed to view the BBC!
Many thanks

Google 'iplayer proxy', there are plenty of sites out there.poppy100

I would double check the legality though (if you are bothered) because I think the license allows you to watch TV whilst in the UK only.
Thinking about it I don't think iplayer type services have anything to do with the TV license either, because you can watch them even if you don't have a TV license.
They are just free for anyone in the UK with access to them via the internet.
There will be a solution, but if you have to use a proxy or software or mask your IP in order to do something, don't kid yourself it is 100% legal.
Saving for a year in Japan.
I need around £10,000. Help me get there! :cool:0 -
you only need a tv license to watch live content on iplayer not recorded shows
nevertheless the site is locked to uk ip's only so you need a proxy0 -
I use Anchor Frees Hotspot Shield works well .
TV Licence rules are simple .
If you are watching Live by whatever means you need a licence .
Delayed transmission catch up tv etc NO licence needed under current rules .
I have USB TV on my computer watching BBC 1 now live i require a licence .
I use BBC Iplayer to watch yesterdays program i do not need a licence .
Legality of watching BBC Iplayer from outside the UK is a bit like riding your bike on the pavement .It may be illegal but how are they going to trace you and would they be bothered .

Hi,
Thanks for responding.
Does the service you use work well? I have read that some are not too good. Willing to pay for a service if it works well.
As for the software idea, I was hoping someone might have a recommendation (I can obviously google and find lots, but a recommendation would be good).0 -

.
:rotfl: That would put thousands of ex pats that watch BBC overseas via satellite in trouble, I am sure they don't bother with a TV licence, and I'm equally sure that none are breaking any law.0 -
