The GreenM Challenge - can I make £50 a month?

Hi eveyone,
My challenge is to sell used books on Green Metropolis (GM) :
https://www.greenmetropolis.com
The aim is to eventually make £50 in one quarter and then continue it on to make a steady £50 every quarter thereafter to help reduce my debts.
Since GM is notorious for its slow sales I am going to set a challenge to see who can sell the most on GM week to week and have a final tally at the end of every month, the most I have sold so far is 4 books in one month. However, I do think that if we apply ourselves and get our hands on as many used books as possible and list them all I do believe it can be done, we can crack GM.
For people who haven't used GM before, it is a site where you can buy and sell used books. You get paid £3 for every book you sell but your postage comes out of that £3, however if the book is bigger than standard paperback you can add a postage credit. Books are sold on a rota basis, meaning that first listed is first sold, hence why selling can be slow. However, with enough books listed I think we can make this challenge. The great thing is they have no fees. You can also buy books for only £3.75 and 5p goes to the Woodland Trust. It is a great place to sell all those books that are well read, old, 1p books on amazon, etc. I have sold many books that I thought would never sell, for example an old law books from the 80s for £5.50 inc postage credit!
So if you would like to join this challenge:
1. Sign up on the website and read the FAQs so you understand how it works
2. List all of your own used books on the website
3. Search and perhaps purchase more used books and list them (e.g freecycle, ebay, boot sales, friends & family, charity shops).
4. If possible, advertise GreenM to get the word out, for example put a notice on your office noticeboard, put a link on your website, etc.
The reason for point 4 is that most people haven't heard of GM and they don't advertise, if more people hear about it the more likely we are to sell our books.
So who would like to join me in this challenge to prove that real money can be made from Green Metropolis?
Please be aware that selling on GM is slow!

I'll sign up. I have over a dozen books listed on there at the moment, and have only ever sold one. I don't have high hopes tho...!"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0

Me too - I'll give it a go for all those 1p books! It sounds a good site.
Thanks for the challenge and for advertising the website.

Welcome to the challenge...Malvena...tsharp and blue!
Tsharp, you do need to have ALOT of books on there to be able to make some real money, and that will be part of the challenge, where can we find cheap or free books to sell on GM, if everyone gives there ideas that will help. We should also keep a tally of how many books we have listed versus how many we sell, then we might be able to work out a ratio.
I have just listed 50 books and I have about another 100 or so to list. I am going to be keeping an eye on freecycle for free books.

Hi Kat - I have had about 15 books listed with GM for a few months now and only sold 1 book, so ok I will go for it and list the 3 carrier bags of books currently sitting in my understairs cupboard
I like listing with GM as it only takes minutes but as mentioned the books dont exactly go very quick
Good luck everybody with the challenge :j
edited 1 1/2 hours later - now have 27 books listed
