I've had a quick search and seem to only bring up frozen chicken breast fillets from farmfoods.
So i have decided to open this thread to see the prices for both FROZEN and FRESH.
What is the going rate for chicken breast fillets? (say per kg?)
Ie: I see on mysupermarket that it seems to be roughly £6.90 for 1kg of fresh chicken fillets?
This is the sainsburys one listed and i don't have access to how much water content is in the chicken itself.
Whats the nicest chicken breast fillets for their price? - reasonable prices please
- Please mention if the price stated is on offer and not on offer
- whether they are frozen or fresh ones
- Dont really have a nearby butchers, so please state what supermarket.
Thanks
P.S: if there has already been a thread open, please merge/close. Thanks!

Cheapest way is to buy a whole chicken at £2/kg and butcher it yourself. You'll get the chicken breast for the same price per kg but the rest of the chicken, the legs, the thigh meat, the wings all of that will effectively be free.:footie:

Get chicken, sharpen knife, cut off skin, cut chicken breast out. It is not hard just takes about 5 minutes of careful cutting. Cut off legs, cut off wings. If you just want the chicken breast then do that and chuck all the rest in the bin it will still be cheaper than buying overpriced small bits of breast at £6.90 per kg. Frozen chicken can be picked up for much less even at £1.40 per kg.
wow thanks, thats good advice :j0 -
