Redundancy Insurance

Hi, not sure if anyone will know the answer to this as I couldnt find any relevant articles ....
I am making an insurance claim for redundancy insurance and the insurance company visited me at my home. As I had not slept for couple of nights due to unemployment worry, I was already tired at the start of the interview. The agent spent 6.5 hours questioning me non-stop without allowing me a break, even to have lunch. By the end of the day, I was brain dead. I didn’t write the statement so didnt see the contents till later in the day by when I was exhausted and also feeling ill. He then asked me to sign a 23 page document with 153 paragraphs after allowing me only 2-3 mins to check it. Due to my physical condition, I just signed it to get rid of him. I then realised that it contained several errors, which he wrote differently to what I said. They have now told me I am not allowed to withdraw the statement and am only allowed to add to it. Is this correct as I was brain dead and felt ill when I signed it and feel that I was pressurised into signing it. I wasnt trying to hide anything but these were genuine mistakes caused by tiredness and lack of time to check it. Are they allowed to question someone for so long without a breakl? Also, am I allowed to withdraw it at all as I feel that the interview was inhuman and the statement was obtained almost under duress.
I would appreciate any advice that anyone can offer me on this as to the best way to get the statement corrected / withdrawn.

Sounds awful, However, if they say you can add to the statement then I would do that. Sit down and in your own time write/type out whatever you want correcting and submit this.

Never heard of an insurance company visiting you at home. I would have kicked them out after an hour or two though and told them to come back.0

This is very unusual. When I last claimed on RI some 9 years ago from what I recall the insurance co required a copy of my dismissal letter & provided a form for JC+ to stamp and initial. Dig out all your documantation and read thoroughly should be your first point of action. You can't change what has already been written down but you have an opportunity to add to the statement and this is the place to address any inaccuracies etc.0
