Greyhound USA discovery pass payment?
Techn
I'm looking to buy a 2 month greyhound discovery pass for travel across the USA, however i have a question about how you can pay for it.
Is it possible to pay via the US website using my caxtonfx prepaid dollar mastercard?
I am unsure as the site only mentions credit cards. I could purchase it in pounds via STA travel, but this would make it £40 more expensive (£385) compared to the US site price of $539.
Also if anyone has purchased this pass, does anything get sent in the post? as the site says allow 21 days before travel for international buyers.
I have contacted greyhound via email but have yet to hear a reply, i will need to do it soon if i am to allow 21 days for something to come in the post.
Thanks

The US doesn't differentiate between credit and debit cards in the way we do here...I would imagine if you have a card with a MasterCard logo on it it should be fine.
The website says:
Pick up the pass at any Greyhound terminal listed here at least one hour before boarding. To pick up passes, the credit card holder must present the credit card used for purchase, the reference number (displayed after purchase) and valid photo ID. If the credit card is not presented, a nonrefundable $11.00 fee will apply.
I think the bit about 21 days is only if you are starting in Canada.
Domestic and international passengers with travel starting in the U.S. can now purchase passes 2 hours before travel, and the passes will be available at the terminal.
Domestic passengers with travel starting in Canada must purchase passes online at least 14 days in advance to insure your Discovery Pass is delivered prior to you leaving home.
International passengers with travel starting in Canada must purchase passes online at least 21 days in advance to insure your Discovery Pass is delivered prior to you leaving home.
In both instances for Canadian travel, your Discovery Passes will be mailed to the address your credit card company sends your monthly statement to.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Thanks for this, i think the key point was the US meaning of credit card.
i dont arrive till april but wanted to get it sorted before going to OZ in a few weeks. I just didnt wanted to load up the caxton only for it not to work and then lose the card before i got there.Swagbucks since July 2012 - £300 Paypal, £330 Amazon
