Buying vouchers off Ebay??

I bought some Tesco restaurant voucher from Ebay a few weeks ago, they've not arrived when I try to do the "item not received" I get this message -
We're sorry there's a problem with your purchase. Unfortunately, this item isn't in a category covered by eBay Buyer Protection.
Does this mean there's nothing I can do?

Vouchers are intangible and as such not covered by seller or buyer protection on Ebay or Paypal. IIRC Tesco vouchers should not be resold as they are for use by the account holder named. I doubt you will get much help with Ebay, you could try phoning.0

Thats a nice little earner for some people then sell vouchers when they dont turn up Ebay wont help so selerl has the cash Ebay has the fees (but wont assist buyer) and buyer out of pocket0 -

was thinking the same, ebay are happy to accept the fees, same as any other item, but not to offer the same protection..0 -
You could try your card company for a chargeback, but I wouldn't hold out too much hope. I quite agree with your comments, it is a sad state of affairs really. Which, is why you may have some luck by phone. You may just get a goodwill voucher, but you may get something.0

Your being a bit ridiculous there are loads of things you could technically list that wouldn't be covered by ebay or Paypal protection. The buyer has to take some responsibility and should check if they will be covered.
no point in being personal if someone says something you don't agree with...
I'm not one of those people who blame ebay about everything, or has unrealistic expectations, but if they get paid the same fees for those items they should offer the same service, or if they think they are too high risk they should not allow them.0 -
AFAIK they use the generic term 'gift voucher' to cover paper vouchers. I thought this was an email code, but on reading the OP again, I misread it as email voucher.0
