My mum moves around a lot ROP

like moves house lol. I'm still a student and still live at home with my mum. But the problem is she moves around soooo much.

I am on the electoral roll (sp) and wanted to change my name officially (which I have done through deedpoll), and also update my address.

Is it okay to keep it at my boyfriends house? Or does it actually have to be the place you LIVE in? The problem is he gets tax credits I think for being a "single" claimant so I dont want to mess that up for him.

To give you an idea in the past year we've moved 3 times. She just can't settle.

I'll probably be moving in with him when I finish uni in May and can get more hours at work

  • I dont understand what you are asking in your post? What is it you are wanting to keep at your boyfriends house?

The only thing that would complicate matters is the fact that your boyfriend is claiming tax credits as a single claimant yet you are planning to link yourself to his address !

If he is ever investiagted he may find it difficult to prove that he is a genuine single claimant if you are registered on the electoral role to his address.

Well that's my question. Will it mess up his claim if I put his address on my electoral roll. But I guess you just answered that! lol

There have been numerous other threads on the site regarding people who have been investigated and have had a hard time proving that someone doesnt live with them . Having your name on the electoral role at his address would make it pretty difficult to convince DWP/HMRC that you are not living with your partner.

Just checked prices. I'm not paying £70 for a fricking mailbox. I'm going to ask ym boyfriend to ask the council see what they say.

    why ask the council anything?

HMCE administer tax credits and it will be them that investigate your boyfriend for fraud.

You may already be seen as LTAMAW now which will also mean a fraud investigation.
