Breakdown cover

I am looking for breakdown cover but not really interested in Greenflag, RAc orthe AA. ihave read that AutoAid was quite good I applied via the phone but discovered that they do no cover transit sized vans. only car derived vans.
So am looking for a breakdown cover similar to auto aid that will include transit sized vans.
Personal cover, not fora particular vehicle and insurance based, like Autoaid.
the reason I am not interested in The AA and RAc is because their general policy just to tow you to the nearest garage and are not interested in getting you going. Greenflag just drag you to their nearest appointed Green flag garage. Note these are not all my experiences, just from limited personal experience and from friends and internet reviews.

Thats because you choose to go for the lowest priced option. I've had a RAC mechanic fit a clutch cable at the side of the road, another drive to a nearby motor factors to get a set of points for a morris minor and fit them at the side of the road.
It is not in their interest to tow you to the nearest garage unless they can't fix it within a reasonable amount of time because it ties up the recovery driver longer.
All recovery firms are the same in this respect. However AA and RAC include transit sized vans.0 -

I know about The AA policy to spend as little time by the roadside as I was told by a friend who used to work for the AA. This happened a few years ago when the AA were taken over by a management fund. I found the RAC cover unsuitable:
Quote from RAC site. "Personal Based Cover allows the named people to be covererd in any non commercial vehicle."
As for cost of cover. I haven't chosen the lowest level of cover, or any cover from the RAC or AA because I don't want to use either of them.0
