Upgrading from Leopard to Snow Leopard

Hi,

I looking for some advice on upgrading from Leopard to Snow Leopard on my Imac please.

Questions I have are -

1. Would it be a good idea to back up before I do this, i don't have an external drive but could purchase one. All my kids photos are stored on this computer.

2. Will I have to upgrade Ilife to a newer version? Some people say Ilife 09 is better than 11.

3. Will my office for mac still work ok?

Thanks,

Marco

Thanks in advance.

  • 1. It's definitely a good idea to back up. I didn't have any problems but anything could go wrong. Also your hard drive could break tomorrow regardless and you would lose those photos. Get an external drive and do a full back up ASAP.

    2. No you don't have to upgrade.

    3. Yes it will still work.

Wait for Tiger to come out and then wait a bit for the problems to be ironed out, you may need to check to see the compatibility of any sofware you have installed an do back up.

    Thank you.

I will go and take a look for an external hard drive. Somebody had told me that my version of iphote wouldn't work with snow leopard. Thats good to hear that it will be ok save some cash :-)
