Travel insurance £400???

I'm trying to find a 'backpackers' (single trip, world wide, extreme sports, comprehensive cover (inc. Search and Rescue etc)) insurance policy. Tried all the usual suspects (including the best buys), but getting quoted in the region of £300-£400 per person. That seems steep :think:(although I appreciate you get what you pay for)? Any ideas? Am I looking in the wrong places?:( Or is £300 reasonable?
