Is Tax Credits paperwork and awards in two names ? aka Mr & Mrs Smith ?

Joint claim made for tax credits, as you have to when a couple, but just wondering whether the paperwork comes back only to the person who will receive any payments (me) or whether it comes back addressed to both ?

They send you a copy each! Think it's a legal requirement as you're both responsible for the claim (and if there's an overpayment they can money claim back off either/both of you, regardless who was actually paid!).

Other half wants to do an educational course and would receive a significant discount if she has some paperwork detailing a benefit on their list and they are being particularly anal about this, hence waiting for the tax credits paperwork.
