can someone please tell me how to get my emails automatically to land in my inbox without having to push the send receive tab...I use outlook

Under the options there's something like 'polling interval', 'automatically connect every [ ] minutes' or similar. Set that for 5 mins (or less or more, whatever you want)

For Outlook 2007:
Tools >Send/Receive >Send/Receive Settings >Define Send/Receive Groups
Under Setting for group "All Accounts" tick to Perform an automatic send/receive, and set the time interval.

another email question

I have outlook 2003 and when I click on the outlook icon on the toolbar it goes to 'Personal Folders...Outlook Today'

is there any way of going straight to the inbox?

There is another way (and better way) depending on where your emails are coming from - is this a work based email or something else?

Tool -> Options -> Other -> Advanced Options -> and under General Options|Startup in this folder: browse to where you want to start.
