alliance and leicester, what happens with cheques?

Hi, im thinking about switching my current account to alliance and leicester from my current HSBC current account...

I dont visit the bank very often only to cash in cheques or on very rare occasions to withdraw large amounts of money.

I have no local alliance-leicester branches local to me so how do i go about cashing in cheques or withdrawing money. Can i only do this from alliance-leicester branches which the closest one is 20 miles away!

Thank you!

Dean

  • I'm fairly sure you can do that at a post office, you will need to double check but I am 90% sure that this is the case!

I have an A&L account and I am 100% sure you can pay in at a post office, you can also send cheques in the post to their head office in Bootle. Don't forget also that if you can find someone to refer you, there's a further £50 to be "split" (on top of your £50 sign up)
  • There ain't an Alliance Leicester close to me either unless I head to the city centre. I tend to deposit my cheques either through the post office which takes 4 days to clear or I use the local post which ever I feel is convenient at the time.

You can also deposit cash at the post office and this is credited immediatly to your account.
