Immediate breakdown cover

Evening
Has anyone got immediate breakdown cover?
Just want to know the costs etc as I cannot find the cost on the AA website.
Hubby was on the way home from work and car would start but would not drive off, like the handbrake was on ( it wasn't though). He got a lift home and left the car at work ( a secure car park). Our stupid fault for never getting cover in the first place ( yes lesson learn't we don't need a lecture!)
thank you

As far as I know it can't be done. Usually 24 or 48 hour waiting period. An option of course is to go ahead and buy cover then wait 48 hours (or whatever the period is). Meantime the car is in a secure car park.0

On another thread, someone was whinging that the AA charged them £130 for immediate cover which recovered them and also included 12 months membership.0

Yeah i was charged roughly the same, i guess theres a penalty charge for immediate cover. So buy in advanced to save dissapointment when you really need the AA!They call me Mr Pig!0 -
thanks for your answers
my hubby rang and the price was £143.80 which we don't have the funds for, plus they wouldn't bring it home, they would take it to a local garage. Which were not happy with it going to any old garage as we don't know who we are dealing with ( we have been ripped off in the past)
so we have found a local recovery who will charge £45 to bring it home and will have a look at it. Well its someone who we know who recommended.:smileyheaSAHM to my 4 beautiful children and wife:smileyhea0 -
There's a good offer on AA cover on Quidco at the moment:

Probably wont help with the immediate situation though - might be worth considering in the future.0 -
I discussed this with hubby the other day and phoned Green Flag. Initial cost is £95 callout fee and then I think you get an hours worth of on site time before you have to pay more.0
