Ceiling speakers in kitchen

But those are for use with suspended ceiling tiles, not really seen in many homes.
Dunno ive not been in many. Plus was using as an example as he wants ceiling speakers but with these or similar you would only have to cut a bit out then they are flush.. or if thats too much effort they will look like aned extractor fan
Nxt speakers are ace though."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0 -
I've got a dock but was hoping to get a surround sound feel. The kitchen is 18' square and I don't want the sound isolated in one area if possible
Then you want speakers on each wall, about 2' from the corner mounted flat to the wall:
Left channel:
North corner pointing east
South corner pointing west
Right channel:
East corner pointing south
West corner pointing north
It's unnatural having sound coming from above you and will make your kitchen sound like Asda.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
Obviously you wont get surround sound as such but, as described above, if you split the left and right o/ps from the ipod and amplify them you will create some sort of spatial effect.0

The downside of ceiling speakers is that most of them will require an amplifier which you need to connect to your Ipod. One option could be an in wall amplifer and ceiling speakers such as this, although the sound quality is not great An alternative could be small active computer type speakers on top of the cabinets with a remote power switch and connection lead.0
