Time for a baby & child board?

I know I have a vested interest now:o

But babies & children are such a huge expense to people & there is sooooooo much to discuss/buy, do you think MSE should have a baby/child sub board?

We could discuss equiptment for quality & value, & where to get the best deals on nursery/baby/child/school/toys/everything-else that comes with young familes.

my lordy - you are being very efficient for your daughter!

from what i have seen the pregnancy & parenting threads already well developed on this board do just that. they can normally be found near the top of recent posts.

i do not have children, but have looked through the threads before and they are quite large, and fast paced, but they discuss everything from ttc - trying to conceive to leaving home! and they seem very friendly, so i am sure they will have all the answers you need. and will be the best place to ask anything if not already there.

perhaps a good look over there, and a post explaining what you need help/advice with.

and i really don't mean this rudely, i really dont, i know your daughter has had the 12 week scan/tests and all is ok, which is wonderful...

but in the last few months i have heard of so many people loosing/miscarrying at even 6months plus. its heartbreaking. and although i do not know you or your family, i wouldnt wish it on anyone

all i mean is its fantastic to plan, and to some degree yes it is necessary - babies certainly need their things, but just dont plan everything.... perhaps pick certain things, what you feel you need, and once babe is very nearly here, or even here, then you can get them then, not perhaps the most :money:way, but if the worse happens, least they arent sat around to remind you. it wont take someone long to collect the items once little one is here.

please please take this how it meant - just concern, no malace intended.

i wish you all the best, will look forward to hearing about the little ones arrival on the boards in a few months time. :T:A

A separate board would be nice, not sure how easy that would be to implement.

Pebbles having had 3 losses I am not superstitious anymore and already have our pram (Silvercross 3D - very good Mrs E!). I know that if it's going to happen there's nothing you can do and it was too much of a good bargain to miss out on. I get what you're saying, but there's only so much sitting about, twiddling you thumbs and praying you can do before you have to just get on with things xx

Surely that's what this board is? Moneysaving in families - I've seen lots of threads regarding baby equipment and the like here as well as obviously the pregnancy club & parents club.

I think it would just be nice to see them all in one place without them mixed in with other threads x

I suppose I see what you're saying but for short lived offers we have Grabbit and to ask advice you can either start a thread yourself or just ask in one of clubs?

I just think there can be too many sub boards on a forum and having a general family and relationships board means people may respond to threads they might not have otherwise seen.

That's true, this forum is too big for me though so I often miss out on a lot of threads :rotfl:
