Belkin Praise

I've had a Belkin wireless router for about 6 years and recently it started to develop a fault. The reason I chose Belkin initially was that they provide a free lifetime guarantee (I've previously used the guarantee on this product because of a fault that developed with the power supply and so they sent out a new supply). I contacted them via e-mail about this reent fault and after going through one set of diagnostics tests with them, they agreed to replace the router. Incidently, this didn't involve any telephone calls and was simply an e-mail correspondence.

They sent me an address label to allow me to post the old unit back to them and I've now received a new wireless router that works perfectly.

The whole process took slightly less than 4 weeks and considering this happened over the Christmas period, I was quite impressed.

So thank you Belkin for providing the lifetime guarantee and actually delivering on that promise.

I know that some other router manufacturers also now provide this guarantee and some people don't like Belkin routers; however I'm happy with them.

    I have had two 3 linksys routers now (the last two because only linksys do a reasonably priced voip router).

    They have all failed after about 18 months with the same fault - losing connections randomly, requiring a reboot - before total failure of the unit.

    My next router will be a belkin i think, i bought one for a business a few years ago and couldn't fault it. I don't think I shall be buying linksys / cisco again - unless they sort out their quality issues.

    Thanks OP - you helped convince me to get a belkin.

    I wish I had the luck with Belkin others seem to have, I must be cursed when it comes to technology. I've gotten through 3 of their routers, all of which I replaced myself. On the last one I called to get it replaced and I got put back through to tech support who got me to fiddle with a few settings that got it up and running again (for a short while) I've given up on them now, got one of those internet hubs Virgin Media started doing to keep up with BT....haggled them into not charging me the £60 for it though so suppose I can't complain.
