DLA and Doctors reports?

Options
My claim for DLA is up for review at mo and just called DLA to get a update and they have got the report back from my doctor and they have asked there own medical services for advice so would like to know can DLA not go with my doctors report?

i just find it strange they have asked there own medical services for advice about it after getting the report.

I just have a bad feeling about this.

Do they get people on DLA to see there own medical services?

It might be because your GP hasn't provided enough information?

If you mean the DWP has asked their medical services for advice about your doctors report, then that would be becaue the person making the decision (the decision maker) is not medically trained, and if they dont understand something, they HAVE to ask medical services (ATOS) for clarification. Also, if they have any report from ATOS, and it disputes the GP report, they have to ask ATOS for advice.
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

    Many thanks for that

Never had a report done by ATOS before so I go with your 1st bit u said.
  • Beware of ATOS. They are paid by the DWP to make judgements based on opinion rather than clinically diagnosed disabilities. You could even have a midwife or someone that just prescibes prescriptions or retired gp's doing the medical. Hardly fills you with confidence. These ATOS medicals are compulsory for all claimants from 2013 as well. Reading between the lines , they are there to kick people off the dla TO SAVE THE GOVERNMENT MONEY. Whilst I agree that there are people out there who sponge and earn a living based on fraud. There are genuine people out there that is desperate and needy for the help that the dla provide. How a person can come into your house for at most an hour and base your condition based on opinion is beyond me. My advice...BEWARE OF ATOS....
