I’m looking for a service similar to Spotify.. I found out about it through a friend, but can’t seem to find anything similar here. Does anyone know? (and I don’t mean services like Pandora or Last.fm)

Have you tried http://www.grooveshark.com0

gooveshark is good but it is of questionable legality and (because it's songs are uploaded by the comunity) audio quality can be severly lacking and worse when a song cuts out part way through because someone uploaded a 'sample' rather than the full track.
http://www.we7.com/
http://beta.mflow.com/
both online based and fully legal.
but I would say spotify is the best of them all.0 -
AFAIK Spotify is on the verge of going live in the USA, so you shouldn't have to wait too long to be able to use it.0
