Dvd +r Or Dvd -r

I have the Sony RDR-HXD860. It says I can use both types of disc. Is one better than the other? Any restrictions ?

Just want to record from the HDD to the DVD and from a VCR to the DVD.

Thanks

  • i've always used -r and never had any problems.

think there were some older drives which could only read one or the other but everydrive should beable to read both these days.

you'll prob find -r a bit cheaper as well most of the time

If you are planning on playing the discs on a different machine eg in the bedroom, passing on to friends, etc, check which format that machine will play.
