  • I have to say, I love my job even though it is hard work and eats into my home life.......I wouldn't change it. Even if you can only make a life changing difference to one kid, it is worth it!

I think everyone has experienced that 'nut' at some point in their education but equally most have experienced that one teacher who made a real difference to them (hopefully)

    Can't believe you aren't already using x-rays!

It is good you take pride and joy from your work. It is just a shame that teachers and vets and VNs and nurses, who work so hard, and who really do enjoy the difference they make to the world don't get quite the income from it that I feel they deserve.

Before I pop off for the night, just wanted to say to Tulip that I hope by tomorrow you have some positive news on your pup and sorry for going off on a tangent on your thread.

You're clearly a caring, loving dog owner and I wish more were like you. I'll check back tomorrow and hopefully I'll see some good news. All the very best.

How is your little pup today, Tulip? I do hope she is making good progress. What a lucky girl she is to have such a caring 'mum' :T

Hiya, sorry i couldnt get online to update you. Thank you for caring :) She is ok and at home just now but going back to the vets once a week for the next few weeks at least. The new vet said she was dehydrated although she seemed to be drinking and it could have been a combination of her first injections & worming injection & her temp going up. They have given her a few blood tests and some medicines and they dont know why she was 'fitting' but she had 3 more throughout the first night so she was in the best place but none since (touch wood). Despite saying dont worry, that was the worst night of my life so far :( She is very quiet just now and mostly recovering and a touch clingy but i think she is doing well and the vet seems happy. They dont think she has epilepsy but are going to keep an eye on her and run some tests every few months. ( I can see my bills going through the roof and the vet becoming my new best friend) Thank you all again for your advice and kind thoughts. It was appreciated xx

Good to hear the wee one in recovering

Fingers crossed that the fits were just down to her being so poorly at the time

This isnt aimed at you, just a general mention, your case highlights how important it is to get pet insurance from the day you bring your new pet home. Once you pet is sick - its too late and many owners then find they have years of vet bills ahead because they find insurance companies will use every trick in the book to link any new illness with what they were originally treated for before insurance

My last lad, came from a puppy farmer so came with no insurance ( we didnt know better then) and because whilst he was being treated for the worm infestation and KC, the vet noted a slight murmur - his heart was then never covered by insurance. He died at the age of 10 from a tumour on the heart after years of expensive tests and meds, which we were fortunate to be able to afford - others are not so fortunate and so need complete cover

Good luck with the wee one, hope its all onwards and upwards from now on xxx
