Hi guys
I'm looking to upgrade my current av receiver, an onkyo txsr 307 to a pioneer vsx520av.
The reason for the upgrade is the onkyo amp I currently own isn't HD audio capable and also it only allows video to go through the hdmi and not audio.
So for sound I use an optical cable from my ps3 which I can still get dts or dd5.1.
The pioneer unit does decode hd audio as in dolby true hd or dts ma hd:cool:
Has anyone got this pioneer amp and can give me some feedback on it please?
Also is there really any difference in HD audio over dd5.1, as if there isn't then I may as well stick with what I currently use;)

AAC audio decoders are the next thing so investing in anything which doesn't do that could mean having to replace them in the very near future. Dolby Pulse is the name for Dolby's decoder of it.
Might be worth investigating whether there is anything available, I don't know whether there is or not yet as new standards are slow to gain a foothold and be taken up by manufacturers.0
