How to record gameplay from ps3

coolbean12

Hi there, I've been trying to get a device for my son to record and edit gameplay from his playstation 3. He wants to use some of his gameplay footage for a school ICT project as well. A friend of his has a Hauppauge pvr that he uses but they are very expensive. it's his birthday soon but I'm on a tight budget. Can anyone help with alternatives? your comments will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.:o

a device called " dazzle " records in Standard def . the quality isn't close to what you see on your telly by all accounts .

you can find loads of "how to" videos on this subject on You Tube

can you run the PS3 through a DVD recorder?
record the footage onto DVD then finish the disk - upload the files on to the PC to edit them
or maybe a graphics card with input which will allow you to grab the footage and save it directly onto PC.
or if you have a camcorder - setup on a tripod or somewhere stable to record the footage direct from the TV/monitor itself
