Parental controls on windows 7

probably...but I wouldn't suggest it. Chose whichever of the options you prefer, the openDNS route should work with either if you really want to go that far.Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

We cannot get family safety to download either on DS or DH laptop, any suggestions?0

do the usual malware scans, malwarebytes, hijackthis, run your AV (hopefully a decent one and updated) just to make sure a nasty isn't preventing the downloads (download onto a usb stick etc..from another PC if necessary.
Sadly uneducated pronsurfing is about the easiest way to get unwanted things on the computer

OpenDNS - Family Shield
Works a treat. Never rely on one solution though.
Use this site for the HOSTS file that windows uses first to look up addresses...

We have trend anti virus on DH and my laptop that have parental control settings. DH used it last night on his laptop and it stops all nasties. DS laptop has a free AVG anti virus but no parental controls. We have asked a tech guy we have used before to pay us a visit tomorrow to sort out DS laptop. Strangly his friend who has been on the same sites has a virus on his laptop. His uncle was trying to resolve it when he came across the !!!!!!. He was pretty sure it was the root of the virus. Hopefully it can now be sorted. I will no doubt have an very grumpy teen when he realises what we have done!!!!0

Looking for some parental controls for my laptop as my dd uses it too now, and the info here is great but can someone tell me if the OpenDNS Family shield has the option to view the blocked site by putting in a password? Hope you understand what i mean?!? Thanks
edit - The K9 one says you can, which one would be best? Need something simple!!0 -
No, you can't do that with the OpenDNS FamilyShield, but the K9 does allow you to proceed to the blocked site once you enter your password.can someone tell me if the OpenDNS Family shield has the option to view the blocked site by putting in a password? Hope you understand what i mean?!? !poppy100 -
I use K9 for this purpose and would definitely recommend it. Simple to use, flexible configuration, enforces safe search etc..... and free !!
