According to Microsoft yopu should be able to uninstall IE7 and return to IE6:

"To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 to return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP

Click "Start," and then click "Control Panel."
    Click "Add or Remove Programs."
Check "Show Updates" at the top of the dialog box.
Scroll down the list and highlight the version of Internet Explorer 7 that you are running, and then click "Change/Remove." (If you are running Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview — March 20 or later, it is not necessary to check "Show Updates.")

I'm a real stick in the mud with windows settings. I refused to move from DOS for years, then windows 3.1 then 95, 98 etc. I still use XP in classic settings but....
I really like IE7 and I haven't managed to break it yet!

    Weird isn't it.

Be careful what you have your PC set to on updates though - Ms has said IE7 will be distributed as a critical update before too long

Time to download and run the IE7 Blocker Toolkit, perhaps!

But you will only be putting off the evil day when you will have to install and use IE7, if only for updates!
