Webanswers.com - anyone got any views?

Has anyone earned anything using this, please? Just seen a link to it and wondered what it was all about.

Thoughts and feedback much appreciated.

I use webanswers - I did post a thread but it seems to have disappeared, not sure why. You need an adsense account to make money on it - they prompt you to do this when you sign up. It's really easy and quite good fun - you jist answer questions posted by other users, I've found myself learning a bit too!

I've been answering about 20 questions a day for the last week and have made around £9 so far. Apparently, the money increases as you build up a base of good answers - some users report making $100-$200+ every month.

    Thanks

I looked at the site and two things stuck out.

    1. You don't earn any money until your answer has been "awarded" by the person who asked the question.

    2. Users say 90% of answers are never "awarded"

So I guess that means you will never make any money from 90% of the answers you provide.

Seems a complete waste of time to me - "PetCaretaker" is the highest scored person on that board, he or she has posted 6,784 answers and has a reward rate of 18%. You'd be better off with a paper round when considering the time needed/possible reward ratio.

Yep, that's the con, you can't have a chance of earning anything unless the question asker comes back and "rates" your answer. Obviously most don't bother.

Funny how the referral spammers never mention this.

You don't only earn on Awarded answers - on unawarded questions users get a percentage of advertising revenue. There is a system where a good 'quality score' over time of accurate and well presented answers earns you the potential of a larger share of the money.

I don't know the details of how the shares are worked out but I have 11 awarded answers - none of which are showing more than 2 adsense views - and have accumulated £9.50 in just over a week - with the daily amount increasing each day.

If my earnings continue to rise as they has so far I'll be happy... it's still early days though so I'll reserve judgement for a while.

Geordie Joe - if that comment was aimed at me - I never intended to spam. I've been a lurker here for a long time and have got some really useful information from this site. I just thought it would be nice to share this as there are no other posts about it on the forums. If it wasn't aimed at me, sorry!

Yes, that comment was aimed squarely at you.

You are not allowed to ask people to PM you for referrals in here.

So now you know that, you will edit that bit out of your post before the admin remove this thread, like they did your last one.......Won't you?

    Done.

I had no idea that that was not allowed - I knew that links are not but I had seen several long time posters offer referrals though PM so thought that was ok. Apologies.

    Thanks.

If you see others doing it you should report them, and/or point out to them it is against the rules. If we let people get away with it then the forum will be full of people who are only interested in asking for referrals.

Thanks, but unless they're obviously spammers I think I'll leave well alone. I've gained a lot of useful tips from people here so if they see a chance to get a little bit back then good luck to them.

    Sorry for the off-topic, Middlestich!
