Barclays FOS holding letter?! HELP!!!

Hi there,
Wonder if anyone has any advice on this!

Last year I wrote to Barclays using the template off here as I believe I was mis-sold PPI by a very pushy sales person in branch who told me that by taking the loan, my application would stand a better chance of being accepted. She contiuned to set up loans for me posting completed applications to my address asking for me to sign (increasing my loan amount and including PPI again!).
Anyway, I sent the letter, a completed Ombudsman form (off here) and a copy of one of the other loan applications that she sent me to Barclays and received an acknowledgement just before Christmas.

Last week I received a letter off Barclays saying that they are unable to give a response to my letter as "the standards against which your complaint should be assess, namely the FSA policy statement on PPI complaints and guidance published by the FOS are the subject of legal proceedings between the BBA and the FSA and the FOS."

Basically they continue with their letter of abbreviations by saying that they have my complaint on file, once the court has made a decision they will respond.

How should I go about this? Should I complain to the FOS or wait for the court hearing? If the latter, do we know when the court decision is planned to be made?!

Thanks for reading this, would appreciate any help or advice!

Andy

After 8 weeks, you can refer your case to the FOS. The FOS will then take some weeks/months/years to look into it. By which time the judicial review should be complete.

    Hi there

    As Dunstonh says really.

Personally I would give it longer, but the decision is yours of course.

Its the same with 2 of mine, but I am staying put for now.

    Good luck.

Except that the JR may be subject to appeal and take ages.

In the meantime you will work your way up the queue at FOS and if you get to the top in the meantime you should get paid if you win.
