TalkTalk £1000 BT Price Challenge

I've just had a note through saying that BT have lowered their tariff for anytime calls to £7.99.
I'm paying £8.99 per month with TalkTalk at the mo for the same plan, and they have a price challenge that says they'll give you £1k if they're dearer than BT....have tried to download form on their site but it won't work, and the 'contact us' email set up does not have a send button so I can't email them to ask. Dying to know if this would apply but daughter's asleep so I can't ring them!!! How frustrating!!!!!!
Does anyone else know anything about this?
Thanks in advance, hopefully lots of us'll be able to bag a quick £1k, but I somehow think there may be loopholes......

Let us know how you get on but I think there are quite a few conditions to meet.

When does the BT tariff change apply from?, have you a link? No mention of it on their site

http://www.bt.com/Choices/index.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0613877185.1162813153@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccchaddjfkmdlmmcflgcefkdffndfni.0&obsNoSee=Y&vStore=1128&obsPage=/index.jsp&obsType=LINK&obsOID=112069
You can download the TT claim form here http://www.talktalk.co.uk/talktalk/servlet/AssetServer?article=MAIN.UK.TALKTALK.STATIC.TERMS.PDFS&asset=1000
but read the t&C very carefully.;)
If the BT change say takes place on the 1/12/2006 or 1/1/2007 TT will match it or beat it before then and you would not have a claim.0 -
Just spoke to my contact in BT, its a special promo they have RECENTLY started. You have to sign up to a 18 month contract and you only get it for a a year.So you have no chance of beating the TT challenge, because you fall at this hurdle.
6. The Challenge excludes:
b. any limited duration promotions (including occasional special promotions with lifetime benefits) offered by BT after 1 January 2004;
£7.99 is equilavent to 199 geographical calls a month on 18185,do you really make that number of calls.0 -
Are you sure it reads £7.99 and not £9.95.Lucyeff wrote:I've just had a note through saying that BT have lowered their tariff for anytime calls to £7.99.
Only a few months ago BT lowered their all-inclusive plan from £14.50 to £9.95 so I'd be very surprised if they lower it again so soon.
If it is £7.99 then ensure it's not a special offer or something otherwise the TalkTalk challange wont apply.
At this moment, TalkTalk are currently cheaper than BT for their all-inclusive plan.
UPDATE:
Sorry Utilitybroker, you beat me first.0 -
It reads £7.95 (4p cheaper than my brain registered, in fact) per month.
Thanks for looking into it for me - seems that if it looks too good to be true, it probably is, lol!
I think I'll actually stick with Talktalk though, as I'm not a huge fan of BT...
Still trying to get my head around getting cheaper calls using a prefix which I really should do, but every time I look at the info on it my brain goes blank (very pregnant at the mo with crackers 16month old running around).
Thanks again everyone! Never mind, maybe next time..

If you want unlimited calls and are prepared to take a 18 month contract consider http://www.euphony.co.uk/ EU TALK + 18 package.
This works out over the 18 months at an average of approx £4.33p a month, plus you get inclusive intl calls to 28 countries.
Where as BT,s offer works out at an average of approx £8.62p, a month and doesnt include intl calls.0
