sealant in kitchen

We have splashbacks same as worktops. Problem is the sealant between the two doesn't stay. Any advice on what we could do?

  • I assume you have tried to redo it already?
Really clean the area well - I'd go over it with a bit of white spirit on a rag to get all grease off.

I find sealent is one of those things where you get what you pay for... are you buying B+Qs own?
  • It was the kitchen installers who did it then redid it but it doesn't seem to stay. It is a beige colour and they say this could be the problem as the coloured ones don't stick so well? They won't do it again so it is up to us to do now but would like it to be more permanent. In previous kitchens we have always had tile backs so the problem didn't occur as we had grout.
