Smashed Car Window- How do I fit a new one???

My OH left the keys in our car last night and as we were so far from home in the end we had no choice but to smash one of the small windows at the back and reach to unlock the back door..... Any ideas on how to get this fixed quite cheaply?

If you have fully comp insurance, you can get it done through them and you pay a £50 excess or whatever their excess is. Most insurance companies seem to use companies like Autoglass to fix windows.

hi, i only have third party. Its just the little triangle window at the back so am hoping it wont cost too much

Get one from a 2nd hand place and fix it yourself, I've watched someone do this and it doesn't take long.

what sort of place would I get a second hand one from... is it just scrapyards?

Right... I have managed to find a replacement but they dont fit them.... How do I do it and what do I need.

If you do a "google" search for "car dismantlers" it will show some online companies also local ones - put your location into the search and hopefully it will come up with something near you.

It should be straightforward, you might find info on a forum such as car forums or look for your car make.
