Tesco Car Insurance

I had my car insurance with Tesco, got one of those really annoying letters stating that now my insurance has come up for renewal I need do nothing, as they will automatically renew my policy and take the money from my credit card.
Anyway, as I always do I shopped around for cheaper insurance, and I found it cheaper so switched. My policy was due for renewal on the 16/10 so rang them up and told them I did not wish to renew it.
Got my credit card statement through and saw that they had taken the premium out on 23/10!!!
I rang them and (in my rather angry voice) told them what they had done. The (slightly) apologetic woman said it was a 'system error' and said the money would be refunded in 2-3 working days.
I pointed out the they had misused my credit card, I had at no point agreed to a continuous authority and why should I have to take time out of my day and pay for a phone call to point out there mistake. I said I wished to have the cost of my call refunded too. She said she was unable to do this and she would have to speak to her manager. I was put on hold for a few minutes and then asked how much I wanted. I told her to make me an offer, and pointed out (again) I was annoyed that I was very dissappointed with the way they had treated me and ignored my request to cancel my renewal.
Anyway, she went back to her manager and came back and offered me £10 for my inconvience.
Result!

Teso sent me a renewal for my car insurance and the quote was £640 !! I do drive an executive car and I am 27 so I thought it would be high but not this much. I rang to ask if this was their best offer and I was told yes so spent the afternoon checking other sites etc... managed to get the quote down to £420 (Sheilas wheels) Then thought I would try the Tesco website.... All the same info entered online gave me a quote of £421!!!!
So I rang them up to question this and the representative was rude and put the phone down on me!
I rang back ( very annoyed at this stage) and got through to a manager who said they would listen to the call and get back to me.
They did this and apologised profusely and said they would honour the £421 price and would give me an extra 10% discount for th inconvinience...... result! However it did take me a whole day to find this low quote and a further 12 hours to hear back from customer services but what a saving!0
