It is OK, it is not using that much.
Wasn't too clear but 231kWh is for about 4 months.
The 1104 hours (6.6 weeks) is the time on the meter that the compressor has been running since about July.
It is a frost free fridge/freezer so maybe uses a bit more. I would guess 600kWh a year.0 -

????
How can you connect it in the internal wiring of the fridge so just the compressor running time is monitored?
Surely if the fridge is plugged in via the monitor to the 13 amp socket the only functions are time and power consumption.
How does the monitor differentiate between compressor consumption and the power consumed by the light when the door is opened.?0 -
The plug in monitor has a timer that runs when the power consumption is not zero. So is useful for other items such as heaters that are switched by a thermostat.
Correct, It will not differentiate between the compressor and light on.
But 231kWh/1104 = 0.209 kW which seems about right.0 -

The Maplin Meter is powered by the 240v supply itself so the timer runs constantly.
This makes it easier to measure the consumption of items like fridges/freezers etc. e.g. leave the Freezer plugged in via the meter for, say, a week and the display will read 168 hours & 7.12kWh.
The advantage being you don't have to remember how long the device has been plugged in.
The downside is if you have a power cut the timer resets!!:mad:0 -
Using my Lidl monitor i worked out that:
Freezer 1kwh a day
TV/video 0.5kwh a day(mix of standby and use)
Computer/printer/router 1.8kwh !!
My electric prices are two tier, first 220kwh at 10p then the rest(normally about 600kwh) at 6.5p, so used a rough average of 7.5p for the monitor.0 -

Keep an eye on the Lidl website as a lot of their offers are regional.
:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

They will have sold out, I think it was last week. Their special items are changed 2 times a week, could be a while before they have them on sale again.0 -
