Hi
I hope someone will be able to help and advise me. Here goes...
I'm a single parent, and have been working as a mid day meals supervisor at a school, contracted for 8.75 hours. I receive IS due to ill health, full HB and council tax benefit. The school have offered me some more hours as a TA to cover one day a week until half term initially which is for 5 weeks.
They have agreed to make it up to 16 hours per week for me which is great.
My problem is there is no guarantee of the additional hours after the half term, though I'm sure they will help me if at all possible. I'm so worried that if take the work, and I claim tax credits now, I will then possibly have to stop it in a few weeks, I won't be able to go back to Income support but will have to apply for ESA, my housing benefit will be in a muddle, and stress will damage my health again. However, I really want to take the work,
Can any one help, knowing the ins and outs of the benefit system?
Many thanks
