So no matter how hard a dentist works, how much they invest in their practice, no matter what other business interests they or members of their family (spouses) have , a nice car is acceptable reason to suspect their ethics and motives?

If I were a dodgy dentist I would drive a ratty 10 year old Skoda , that way I would be utterly immune from suspicion and only drive the Bentley at weekends.

I share a car park with the solicitors next door! I have no chance in the car stakes :D
However for what it is worth.
I drive a 5 year old Skoda. First car I ever bought new (qualified late 90's)
my nurse drives a BMW convertible, v old admittedly but thats what she wants, and cuts her cloth accordingly to afford to run it.
Fella I qualified with immediately bought brand spanking new BMW, then spent the following 3 years with holes in his shoes and beans for tea, again because thats what he wanted.

I have an 05 reg Mazda 6 estate.

    I also have a Titanium & carbon fibre Colnago. (That's a £3000+ Bicycle)

What does the jury think that says about me?
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

I envy you! My son has a very similar one and is out in all weathers.

It also says that maybe you're cycling too much and missing people's posts.
