Did you ever get this matter resolved?
I was in an accident on a roundabout a transporter cut across my lane and hit the near front side of my car and wheel, and drove off. We managed to follow him for a short distance flashing and beeping for him to pull over, my mum even shouted to him when he wound his window down that he had hit us, he didnt say, anything back to my mum just looked at my car and drove off. We got the reg and called the police (who are writting to him) he has told his insurance he doesnt remember the incident. I cant put into words how angry and upset I am.0 -
he has told his insurance he doesnt remember the incident
There are also reasons he might not have stopped, for example his employer might have instructed him not to stop if raving nutters are trying to flag him down.
I would be upset too in your situation but I'm just saying there are explanations.
If you have his reg number then that's a good start.
Do you have any of his colour paint on your car. If so I would take pictures of it and don't wash it off. Write down everything you remember now.0 -
Could you put a letter appealing for the other driver (the witness) to contact you in a local paper?0

did you keep back when the truck was turningDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

My lanedid you keep back when the truck was turning
The transporter just cut across into my lane, he was at the side of me with taffic to the right hand lane. I broke but it was a HUGE transporter and the end of it hit my car.
For the record i'm not a raving lunatic :-)
He knew he had hit us for sure.
I am leaving it in the hands of the insurance and the police now.0 -

Bear in mind, of course, that something that size WILL have to use more than his lane when turning. In future don't put yourself in that position when on a roundabout.
163. In all cases watch out for and give plenty of room to
• pedestrians who may be crossing the approach and exit roads
• traffic crossing in front of you on the roundabout, especially vehicles intending to leave by the next exit
• traffic which may be straddling lanes or positioned incorrectly
• motorcyclists
• cyclists and horse riders who may stay in the left-hand lane and signal right if they intend to continue round the roundabout
• long vehicles (including those towing trailers) which might have to take a different course approaching or on the roundabout because of their length. Watch out for their signals.0
