If you are renting, I can't imagine that you would be allowed to make these sort of changes. Have you tried asking at the council?0

no havent just yet, was thinking to find out whether was worth it first i have read on rights to allterations to you home but if your making it better which we will be, will just give them a call but maybe should get all the exact plans first.0

No you would not be allowed to make these sort of alterations. You don't own the house.

Hmm, I'm not so sure. I think with council properties it might be something that's allowed, but it will probably vary from council to council and on the terms of your particular tenancy. The only way to know for sure is get in touch with them and ask.0

It may be your home but it's not your property. If it was my property I would not want tenants doing serious alterations. A bit of decorating, fair enough. Anyway you can but ask the council.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

Unfortunately the council may take the view that you would be making it worse, not improving it. However, different councils may take different views on this. Speak to your council and ask for guidance before you spend any money on plans..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
i very much doubt any council will let you make drastic alterations such as these.
one method:
is to say nowt and do it. properly of course.
when you finally vacate, say it was like that when you moved in. theyll never know any different.Get some gorm.0
